Two days trekking.

After enjoying a delicious breakfast at your camp, you will join your camels and start your day trek. You will start your trek where the golden dune of the Sahara meets the palm groves and after three hours travelling toward the Ibour region, you will cross a variety of terrains and dunes.
You will walk together with your camel caravan through the Eastern bank of the Draa Valley. As you continue further toward the Draa Valley, you will notice that  the view of the palm trees will no more dominate the area. It is the end of the oasis and here the Sahara starts. The same as your trek. Sooner the flats are preventing the scenery and  ancient tamarisk trees that fought the desert cruelty for many years can be seen all around.
You continue walking on very salty scrubs to reach the edge of douab dunes (translated as the wolf). As soon as you reach its edge you will make your way across the Draa Valley to reach its western bank where you are supposed to valley along its bank to reach the lunch destination.
But yet your morning journey does not end here because you still have to cross all those big dunes that circulate the western bank of the Draa Valley to finally reach lbour, a beautiful valley with different desert trees for a shady lunch on the beautiful scenery of  lbour, which is  a large wild camel grazing spot.

After enjoying your lunch  prepared by your guides you will continue your hike toward the beautiful dune of camel feet region .

Day two:
Today the hike is shorter because it is combined with a 4×4 drive to the remote dune of erg zahar and a lunch at the spectacular two colour dune spot of erg smar.
You will hike with your camel up to one hour to get to Lahdibat, a big soft hill in the middle of a dry area with a special panoramic view.

You will have a relaxing break for lunch and a rest on the “Two Colours Dunes” of Erg Smar to discover how magical the desert is when you find yourself on top of the red dune watching the white dune while the Draa River pervades the red one.

Where  you will stop to have lunch at the two colour dune in combination with a small visit to the dilapidated farmer houses and the ancient caravan market of erg smar. But the drive is itself a chance to see and shoot different  scenery along the way this part of M’hamid that is witnessing so much desertification including the death trees, long empty  flats etc .

After having a long fabulous lunch under a tamarisk tree and enjoying the dreamy spot of the meeting place of the white dunes with the red one, you will be driven in the middle of  the deep Draa Valley to  reach the eastern bank where the Erg Zahar dune is located. On the drive, you will be exposed to this long empty flat to reach  the undulating dunes of Erg Zahar.
After a while, a load of unique dunes with dramatically different shapes will be in front of you to hike in order to reach the other side, but what is not expected is how you will feel after you see the surrounding dunes from the top of the furthest dune Zahar.
Here we will set camp cocooned by the dunes all around us and after some time to relax and soak up the sunset, dinner will be served around the coy camp-fire.

Erg zahar is the best alternative for those who want to enjoy the remote beauty of the sahara desert  without sharing their experience with other people .
